bag it is a Powerful Look at
the Impacts of Plastics on Society”

Americans use 60,000 plastic bags every five minutes, disposable bags that they throw away without much thought. But where is “away?” Where do the bags and other plastics end up, and at what cost to the environment, marine life and human health?
Bag It follows “everyman” Jeb Berrier as he navigates our plastic world. Jeb is not a radical environmentalist, but an average American who decides to take a closer look at our cultural love affair with plastics. Jeb’s journey in this documentary film starts with simple questions: Are plastic bags really necessary? What are plastic bags made from? What happens to plastic bags after they are discarded? What he learns quickly grows far beyond plastic bags.

carbon nation is a documentary movie aboutclimate change solutions. Even if you doubt the severity of the impact of climate change or just don't buy it at all, this is still a compelling and relevant film that illustrates how SOLUTIONS to climate change also address other social, economic and national security issues. You'll meet a host of entertaining and endearing characters along the way.

"The film gives good reasons for hope" - William Schlesinger,Onearth.org

"...the excellent documentary "Carbon Nation" is an inspiring look at the many recent advances in clean energy and green technologies." - Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times

Voices of the Monument
The Green Earth Film Festival  wanted to recognize one of the unsung heros of  filmmaking in our area. So we sought out names of videographers living in the Coachella Valley who were skilled, professional and who, through their work, raised awareness of the beauty of our desert.  One name always rose to the top.
                                                           Bruce Feagle.
His work as a director, cinematographer, editor, composer and musician is found in feature films, short films, documentaries and commercials.

You will have the unique opportunity to meet Bruce as he shares his 25 years of experience, shows clips of his work and and gives you some hands on pointers about filmmaking.

Is a world where energy can be produced by renewable, clean sources and accessible to everyone: a utopian idea or a dream? And if it does happen, it would mean a fourth industrial revolution driven by self-sufficient energy (no longer coal or oil or atomic-powered) and would resolve problems of social and economic injustice throughout the world. A series of projects (like a building that can produce more energy than it consumes) set up in various different countries (Germany, Mali, Bangladesh) demonstrate that a different future is possible. This film will change your dream and ;your thinking!

Landscape frames our days: trees or flowers, sidewalks and walls, city parks or private gardens. But who envisions this framework for our daily lives? Women in the Dirt is a documentary about seven groundbreaking landscape architects. Their work ranges from intimate, jewel-like gardens to vast urban projects. Artists and scientists, the women bring to their work awareness of sustainability, function, and beauty. Women in the Dirt reveals how these self-described “masters of the obvious” create the sublime.

Meet Producer/Director, Carolann Stoney, as she discusses the documentary film, Women in Dirt, now in post-production.  This beautiful film highlights seven women whose award-winning work has made an indelible mark on the profession of landscape architecture.
Get a flavor for the film in a 15 minute sneak peek.

About Carolann Stoney Producer / Director:
Carolann Stoney is a graduate landscape architect and a lifetime member of the Mediterranean Garden Society. While studying landscape architecture, Carolann became aware of the need for information about women in the profession. The short film she produced as a student won an award, and is the basis for this documentary. Carolann has a passion for sharing good design and sustainable gardening practices within all climate zones. Her own garden follows sustainable practices of low-water requirements, recycling of materials, minimal maintenance requirements, and extraordinary beauty.

"The largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history has swept across the United States. The Halliburton-developed drilling technology of "fracking" or hydraulic fracturing has unlocked a "Saudia Arabia of natural gas" just beneath us. But is fracking safe? When filmmaker Josh Fox is asked to lease his land for drilling, he embarks on a cross-country odyssey uncovering a trail of secrets, lies and contamination. A recently drilled nearby Pennsylvania town reports that residents are able to light their drinking water on fire. This is just one of the many absurd and astonishing revelations of a new country called GASLAND. Part verite travelogue, part expose, part mystery, part bluegrass banjo meltdown, part showdown."
"Take a journey and discover one of North America’s most unique and diverse mountain ranges. Learn about the native Cahuilla Indian Tribes and how they survived in such extreme environments. Soar over some of the most spectacular geological landscapes from indigenous palm oasis to one of the largest rockslides in the world. View spectacular footage of the endangered and illusive Peninsular Big Horn Sheep; plus a range of animal, bird and plant life encompassing five different life zones. Shot in spectacular high definition HDTV you'll experience the detail of this diverse and seldom seen land."
